Trip Charges

If a trip for collection or turn off occurs, the following additional charges occur:

General: CHARGE PER TRIP during working hours of 8am to 4pm on weekdays to collect, discontinue or reconnect a service: $50.00

Additional: CHARGE PER TRIP to reconnect service between 4pm and 8am weekdays or on Saturday, Sunday or holidays: $150.00

Returned Checks or Returned Bank Drafts
Effective January 1, 2004, a $30.00 handling charge is made for a check or draft that is returned to us by your bank.

After KEC has taken three returned checks from an individual or business, then that individual or business is notified that we will no longer accept checks as payment for electric service, and that individual or business must pay their bill either by cash, cashier's check, or money order.
